How does community engagement and involvement work?

Researchers and public contributors across the Birmingham region are supported by a Birmingham Public Involvement Hub, which provides coordination, advice and support for public involvement throughout the research lifecycle. The Hub works across NIHR‑funded projects, programmes and infrastructure to strengthen public involvement practice, share learning and make it easier for meaningful involvement to take place. 

A Birmingham Health Partners Institutional Public Involvement Strategy is currently being developed. This will set out shared commitments, principles and approaches to public involvement across the partnership.
